In 2021, the Reykjanes Peninsula erupted for the first time in 800 years. After close to a year’s break from the Fagradalsfjall volcano eruption, it  started again on August 3rd, 2022. This time around it’s Litli-Hrútur mountains turn. Right on the Reykjanes peninsula, just minutes away from the Blue Lagoon, the hike through the lava fields of old to see the newly formed lava fields is a hike through geological history.  

The hike takes around 5-8 hours and is about 12-20 km depending on trail availability and you will be accompanied by expert guides every step of the way. This is a private tour so you will have the guides full attention as they help you traverse the hike and share some fascinating facts with you along the way.  Accommodating bigger groups is no problem, just contact us for details.
